Montclair Baseball and Softball Club

The MBSC is pleased to announce its slate of fall baseball and softball programs. For the first time we have  something for every age group from Tball up to High School. While we are not sponsoring travel teams in the fall, we are offering instructional programs and league play across the board.

We expect the programs to run for six weeks,  beginning Sunday September 19th, then switching to Saturdays and lasting until October 30th. We have not built in rain dates, so we will keep our fingers crossed. You must register for the programs through this web site-the link is below. 

We think  it is important not to require year round play as some other youth sports organizations have done. If you have another sport in the fall, by all means play it. The programs we are offering should allow you to play some more baseball and softball, allow you to learn some more and improve, and give you enough time to play another sport if you want to.

Tentative dates for tryouts for the travel teams:

Softball: September 22 and rain date 23 

Baseball: September 25. Rain Date-October 3.

 Tryouts for MBSC Travel Softball Teams for the Spring and Summer will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, September 22nd and September 23rd at Mt. Hebron from 4:30-6:30PM. Tryouts will be held for u10's, u12's and u14s.

We will have two fall softball leagues, a Senior League and a Junior League.  Both will play on Saturdays this fall and will include instructional clinics as well as games. All activities will be held Mt. Hebron Field. The Senior League is for girls who will entering grades 6,7 and 8 this fall. The Junior League is for girls entering grades 3,4, and 5.

The leagues will begin Sunday September 19th and then switch to Saturdays until October 30th. Games and clinics will be scheduled between 10:30AM and 4PM and will vary from week to week for each team. The first two weeks will focus on instruction and practice. Once games begin it is expected teams will play  doubleheaders with each game lasting 75 minutes. Space in this program is limited so that roster sizes do not become too large. The cost for both leagues is $60 per player.

TBall will be held for boys and girls who are 5 and 6 years old. The Tball program will be held at Edgemont Park from 12n to 1PM on Saturdays. The first week we'll play on Sunday September 19th. After that we'll play on Saturdays at least until October 30th, Warning-your kids will test postive for pizza and ice cream after this program is through.  Cost-$60.

From youngest to oldest here's our Fall Baseball Lineup:

Tball: Known, for good reason, as the World's Greatest Tball Program, this is for  boys and girls 5-6 years old. Saturdays from 12N-1PM at Edgemont Park.  We'll  start on Sunday  September 19, then switch to Sundays after that. Teels Baseball and Softball Academy will be helping us. Warning-your kids will test postive for pizza and ice cream after this program is through.  Cost-$60.

8U (Not really Coach Pitch Anymore): For kids 7 amd 8 years old. First two weeks will feature clinics run by Teels Baseball and Softball Academy. Then the games begin. Space is limited. Follows Tball. Begins Sunday September 19th, then witches to Saturdays. All play will be from 1PM-2:30PM. Cost-$75.

9-11 Year Olds Fall Baseball League. This program is for those players ages 9 to 11 years of age and will held on Saturdays from 3:00pm to 4:30pm.  Begins Sunday September 19th, then switches to Satursdays. Will initially focus on fundamentals and emphasize  skills needed for advance play. Players will then be grouped into balanced teams for weekly scrimmages. Parents interested in coaching and/or learning how to coach are strongly encouraged to participate. Cost-$75.
